Rhea: 7 months young

I’m trying to slide a 7 month update in here before the Christmas craziness really begins, so this will probably be mostly pictures. You guys probably didn’t want to read a post droning on and on about how wonderful my child is anyway. (But she is pretty wonderful, though.)

Milestones: She is eating solids with some regularity, but she doesn’t like it for the most part. She seems to be humoring us. She is army crawling a little bit if there is a toy in front of her that she really wants. She rolls around front to back and back to front, and sits very steadily. She has started babbling “mamamamamama.” She stopped sleeping through the night during a horrible chest cold that everyone contracted and although she has recovered from the cold, she is still waking up to nurse a good bit all night. No teeth yet (all of mine are late teethers), but lots of drool and gnawing on things. Her naps are finally stretching out to an hour or so. (Which is a relief because they used to be no longer than 20 minutes.)

Likes: She loves her sisters toys. She will abandon an entire pile of baby toys and roll right over to her sisters’ princess castle to play with it. Still loves nursing more than any other form of food. Loves pulling her sisters’ hair, splashing in the bath, tickles and kisses under the chin, and being held. She still prefers her rock n play to her crib.

Dislikes: Being woken up (the room sharing experiment continues, and she does not appreciate being woken up by Ruthie), riding for too long in her car seat, drinking from a bottle (the struggle is real), she still hates banana, she was not happy about being sick, but was the only child that managed to avoid having an ear infection (breastfeeding FTW?).

She is the most adorable little thing, and she gives us so much joy. She has rolls upon rolls and dimples galore on her little bum. When you kiss her or tickle her under the chin or pinch her chubby little thighs, and she makes the most glorious giggle. I firmly maintain that a baby’s giggle is the most wonderful sound in the world. I just love her big beautiful eyes and her dainty little mouth. I get so sad the winter months because her chubby thighs of glory are no longer visible. So I have been settling for some thick tights so that at least I can gaze at that sweet little thigh crease. Alright, I’m going to stop before I sound too much like a wicked witch living in a gingerbread house (too late?) Love our sweet Rhe-bae.
