The delightful Rosie from A Blog for my Mom is very kindly hosting a What We Wore Sunday linkup, and I thought it would be fun to join in and post a few pics from what we wore today. (Just FYI, Scott dresses all of the girls but Rhea for church every Sunday. He does a good job!)
Ruth: Smocked dress was a gift, tights are from Carters, and the shoes were a gift.
Rose: Hair bow is from Free Babes Handmade, dress is Gap, tights are Carters, shoes were a gift.
Wren: Sweater is from Carters, dress is Gap, tights are Carters, shoes are from Nordstrom.
Rhea: Bonnet is Petite Soul, dress is from Gap, knee highs are Hubble and Duke, moccs are Freshly Picked.

The sweet little rosaries that the girls are playing with my mom and dad purchased while on their mini retreat to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament of Our Lady of the Angels. Try to say that three times fast.
The girls were ahem very sanctifying at Mass today. Rose announced that she had to go pee as soon as we reached the elevator, so I was forced to toss the baby at Scott as he loaded all of the girls onto the elevator so that I could take Rosie to the restroom. When we finally made it back into the elevator and as the elevator doors opened to reveal the balcony, I could tell some sort of kerfuffle was going on. I instantly recognized the voices of my darling children. Just as I rounded the corner to their pew, Rhea made a nose dive into the pew in front of her, and Ruth was wailing. Not to be outdone by her sisters, Wren was making quite a bit of noise herself. I had to spend some time nursing Rhea in the stairwell and then trading a full and happy Rhea for a wailing Ruth to also calm down in the aforementioned stairwell. It was an off day for us. Luckily, all of our fellow balcony residents were incredibly kind and patient with us, as usual.

I would love to be able to nurse the baby in Mass easily, but also have it be not be unflattering. Anybody have any suggestions?
Adorable family! Love all their dresses! Good job, daddy! Ken also is particular about our girls clothes but when he dresses them he often hopes they match. 😉 Undercover mama tanks under shirts with a cardigan and skirt are my go to outfits when I have a nursing little one. 🙂
Thank you! And yes, Scott is the same! He dresses them all exactly alike whenever he can. He claims it is so he can pick them out of a crowd easier, but I know it is really because he thinks it is adorable. That settles it, I’m buying an undercover mama tank!
Atticus never took to a nursing cover. He doesn’t nurse at Mass anymore, but my solution was a skirt and top with a cami underneath. I would pull my top layer up and pull the cami down on whichever side he was nursing on. I have never met a nursing tank that I like but camis work for me. Also cardigans are great for a little bit extra side coverage if needed (or if you are just wearing a top and nursing bra) I especially recommend the cami if Rhea starts in on any nursing gymnastics which is definitely a possibility in the coming months; it makes it easy to quickly cover up if she decides to try nursing upside down or while dancing.
Yes! She has just started the gymnurstics which has been a total shock for me as I usually have to wean them around 6-8 months. Such great suggestions, thank you so much!

Oh my gosh, you all are so dressed up! I am usually pretty happy when we make it to church fully dressed and mostly stainless 😀 Our kids mostly dress themselves and have their own sense of fashion. Not a chance talking them into wearing something that they are not willing to. Wearing a dress shirt for sunday church? sorry, mom, no can do. But on Monday, because I want to impress the kindergarten teacher…
Yeah, luckily, we have not met with much resistance on that front. Hopefully, that doesn’t change any time soon 😬
Daddy does a great job dressing the girls! As for nursing in Mass (or anywhere else for that matter), I just wear a nursing tank so that my tummy is covered. I usually also wear a cardigan and that helps to give me a little extra coverage if I don’t use a nursing cover. I would love to wear dresses more often, but I can’t figure out how to nurse smoothly even in a “nursing friendly” dress! So it’s mostly skirts/pants and a nursing tank for me.
The nursing tank comes highly recommended from a lot of nursing mamas! I really need to break down and buy one. Undercover Mama I’ve heard is a good brand?

I always go with the two shirts philosophy for nursing, pull one up and the other down. Ive never bought an actual “nursing” top and find covers cumbersome, but i wear svarves for warmth a lot.

Gosh those girls are cute!! Andrew usually dresses the girls for Mass while I’m getting ready, too – it used to work out better, these days Cecilia has too many opinions about her clothing and hair and usually ends up looking like a ragamuffin… And I have ALL the nursing-friendly mass outfit ideas! Most of them revolve around scarves as nursing covers, and sadly it’s going to get too warm for that soon 🙁
Scott does a great job until hair. He draws the line at doing little girl hair. But I really enjoy doing their hair, so it works out. This is my first winter nursing baby, so I can’t believe I didn’t think of the scarves! I totally should have scoured your blog for ideas. I’m going to remedy that right now!

Yup! Four girls in four years. The first two names were family names and happened to start with the same letter, and after that we figured we might as well keep on with the same theme! 😂 And thank you. ☺️
